Gratitude is a lot of things.
Gratitude is a personality trait, a mood, and an emotion.
It is being aware of and thankful for the good things that happen in your life and taking the time to express appreciation and return kindness.
Chasing an adult life, you can lose yourself. We feel we need to live by a time line.
Have our dream job, married with kids at this age. House bought or built and living a happily ever after at that age.
We get so fixated on how society portraits where we should be at in our lives, that we start to lose our identity.
Take a step back. Take 30 mins daily for you.
Breathe. Everything will happen when the time is right.
Gratitude is something I’ve started to practice daily since coming home from Thailand. I’ve really started to appreciate the simple things in my life.
I trained yesterday afternoon and then met with friends for coffee. After, I drove to the beach to walk along the prom. As I walked it, listening to the waves crash, I got shivers. It made me think.. how lucky am I to have my health to be able to drive a car to get to walk the prom. How thankful am I to have money to pay for diesel to get me here. To pay for tax and insurance. I never felt as thankful as I did last night for something I’ve never really paid that much thought to. A car.
To some people I might not have much, or I might have it all.
To me, I just have everything I need.
We need to be grateful for the little things in life. Because I don’t think we realize how lucky we truly are 🌻
