As the old saying goes ‘you can’t out train a bad diet’.......... Sure we can all find time during the week to exercise but fundamentally if fat loss is your goal if you aren’t exerting a little control over what you eat and drink then your fighting a loosing battle. There seems to be a lot of negativity in the industry at the moment over tracking macros and how restrictive eating is not conducive to a healthy mindset. However let’s say we took a ‘fuck it’ attitude towards spending money or drinking excessive amounts of alcohol everyday, it wouldn’t be long before we had the bank manager on our backs and dealing with a host of mental and health setbacks as a result of this ‘fuck it’ attitude. So why should our approach to nutrition be any different? Nobody is suggesting we have to survive on chicken and broccoli everyday of the week but been mindful over what we eat and drink should also be a priority alongside a well structured exercise programme. #personaltrainer#PT#nutrition#macros#caloriedeficit#fitspo#instafit

Motor control is the base functional component of the Human Movement System (HMS). Motor control is how our nervous system creates and coordinates movement patterns. EVERYTHING else (mobility, strength, pain-free movement, agility, injury prevention, balance, skill...) is downstream from motor control. . . The nervous system creates all patterns out of joint actions. Joint actions are perceived by the brain as either tolerant (“safe”) to ground reaction forces (GRFs) or intolerant (“unsafe”) to GRFs. . . GRF-tolerant actions can be integrated into the construction of patterns. But the GRF-intolerant actions are the source of neural compensation. . . The brain needing to work around GRF-intolerant actions decreases neural efficiency and negatively impacts the integrity of every movement pattern. ALL movement outcomes (mobility, strength, endurance, pain, injury, skill...) become sub-optimal. . . Much time, effort, and money is wasted in every PT clinic, Chiro office, gym, performance training center, and with every elite sports organization every day by focusing on all of downstream mayhem (sub-optimal outcomes) that occurs after we compensate. SQ1 cuts through all of this chatter & noise by pinpointing & resolving the issue of GRF-intolerant joint actions (poor sensorimotor signaling). By taking this bottoms up approach to improving movement quality, SQ1 immediately reduces the need of the nervous system to compensate. Outcomes (mobility, strength, pain...) often change instantaneously for a very high % of the population. This frees up more time to focus on actual training. . . In the future, all movement pros will start with motor control restoration prior to focusing on the downstream rattles and noises.
